Post your plan and progress here for achieving 20 pull-ups in 2011. For most people, 20 pull-ups may seem impossible. With a good plan it should be within reach by the end of the year.
I think having a plan will also keep injuries down. Pay attention to your body! Here's a link to a plan from T-nation. I'm going to start at the
"I kinda suck" level.
Category # 2: The "I kind of suck" program
Target Audience: 1-4 pull-ups
Frequency: 2 times a week, spread out by 2 days of rest minimum.
Day 1
Pull-ups w/negatives, 4 x 4
45-degree bent over row, 4 x 10, 8, 6, 15
Wide lat pulldown, 3 x 12, 10, 8
Day 2
Flexed-arm hang, 4 x 30 seconds
Assisted pull-ups, 4 x 8-12
DB row, 3 x 12, 9, 6
This is the start of the program. You should read the article and look through their archives. They have alot of good stuff. The language is a bit "intense" if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff.
